Major Flooding in Hotel

Major Flooding in Hotel

In Wethersfield, CT, a massive Nor’easter caused temperatures so cold that a local hotel had a catastrophic pipe-break in the main sprinkler system. Unfortunately, the sprinkler system broke on the top floor of the building causing gallons of water to flow down to each floor. The immense amount of moisture caused a huge mold outbreak. SERVPRO of Glastonbury/Wethersfield sent out their teams with 53 air scrubbers, 200 air movers, and 100 dehumidifiers. When they arrived, they dried out every room to prevent the mold from spreading any further and also cleaned up the existing mold outbreak.

Burst Sprinkler Pipe at Nonprofit

Burst Sprinkler Pipe at Nonprofit

February 12, 2018, a cold snap with dangerously low temperatures hit Hartford, CT. Inside of a local nonprofit agency in the area a pipe froze and burst. The water damage spread throughout about 75,000 square feet of the building before being stopped. Since so much of the building was damaged, the agency was unable to confidently continue their work without causing harm to their employees and their customers so they were forced to shut down. To get the agency back on track, they called SERVPRO and they were very quick to arrive. They began by doing an emergency water extraction to the multiple inches of water in the building. After, they completely dried the area out and tested for dangerous mold and mildew build up due to the water. Next, SERVPRO removed and replaced all of the damaged material from the flood. The nonprofit agency was very impressed by SERVPRO.

Major Savings with Alternate Solutions

Major Savings with Alternate Solutions

In Portland Connecticut, a homeowner suffered major water damage behind their newly installed $30,000 kitchen cabinets. The typical procedure for SERVPRO for Glastonbury/Wethersfield to fix the plumbing would have been to cut directly through the cabinets to access the pipes, but instead they were able to come up with a creative solution that avoided destroying the expensive cabinets. By alternatively cutting through the pipes below the cabinets to do the repairs, SERVPRO was able to save the cabinets with a solution that cost the homeowner $800.

East Longmeadow MA Water Damage

East Longmeadow MA Water Damage

A family living in East Longmeadow, MA went on vacation for three days during the New Year’s Eve holiday in 2016. Upon coming back on Sunday, January 3rd, the family found that their furnace had suffered a backup, causing water rather than steam  to travel through the heating system. As a result, every radiator in their house leaked water, spreading across two floors and the basement. This image presents only some of the damage. The family was quick to call SERVPRO of Glastonbury/Wethersfield. As soon as our crews arrived, we began the emergency cleanup and restoration services. SERVPRO began by removing all the water, then packed up all the family’s valuables in boxes to store at our climate controlled warehouse. Finally, we got rid of the damaged walls, ceilings, and carpets, and installed our specialized drying and anti-microbial equipment. By the time SERVPRO finished restoring the property, the place was good as new!

Simsbury Flood Cleanup

Simsbury Flood Cleanup

Farmington Valley was hit by a torrential downpour in July of 2016. The storm drain at a Simsbury independent school couldn’t contain the hefty volume of water, so large amounts of water mud flooded into the entrance door and all over the floors of the boarding school as a result. The water and mud covered almost 7,000 square of the school’s floors. The Simsbury all-girl school called SERVPRO of Glastonbury/Wethersfield and within an hour we responded, and were on the scene within two hours. Our crew cleaned up the mess, did restorations, and dried everything up in five days. The Simsbury school was so happy with the services we provided, they've called us to take care of several other jobs since then.
